Please Clarify the following....
Detailed Answer:
Hi there , welcome back to HCM,
Well I've gone through your current query as well as all those previous queries, seems like it's been going on for a while.
Now can you please take a moment to clarify the following so that I can guide you to a proper direction as well as further course of management :
Please tell me since when exactly are you having this cough issue and what made you convinced that it's Whooping cough(it's different entity all together- mainly a childhood disease , considering National Immunization Scheme and health awareness , it's almost obsolete in the society ).
Can you please describe a bit in details regarding the cough , like what causes it / happens at what time of the day in particular / what relieves it /what worsens it / are you able to cough out any of those mucus that you've mentioned ??
Have You finished the due Course Of Levofloxacin ??
Have tried all other medications as already advised by other Doctors, if yes can you please tell what all have you taken so far ??
Any other problems that you're facing at present apart from this ?
Any Smoking / alcohol intake ??
Also please tell me about your occupation and location of Work as in several cases they are found to be highly related ..
Can you please upload Chest X-ray film (if it's done already) otherwise I'd strongly suggest you to do it (Preferably PA view) ..
I'm waiting for your reply..
Feel free to discuss further.

Hi there, Welcome back to HCM,
Thanks for the detailed info,
Well now you can be assured that it's not even close to Whooping cough.
Now come's the difficult part, let me tell you that you need to completely stop smoking to let the medications fully take effect over the disease (I'm sorry to say that No special filter can do that). It's not about reduction in the number of Cigarettes, but complete cessation at once.
To help the process you need to start apply Nicotine Trance-dermal Patch(17.5mg) Each patch for 72 Hrs and follow the additional instructions on the leaflet Or alternatively start chewing Nicotine gums immediately.
Also , I know that in the beginning it'll be really difficult , but keep yourself so busy in other activities (be it work or hobbies) that the thought of smoking doesn't even pop in. Also avoid places or persons which promotes smoking.
It's all in the mind , if you think you can do it , no matter how difficult it is , you'll be able to do it.
To relieve the problems, you may try the following :
Do XXXXXXX Warm Saline gargling three to four times a day
Take Tab LORATADINE 10mg Once Daily at bed time for the next 7 days(You may need to check into your local physician to get a prescription for this)
Syp GRILINCTUS 5 ml(1 TSF) 3 times a day for the next 5 days(You may need to check into your local physician to get a prescription for this)
Stem inhalation with Carbol Vapo-Cap 2-3 times a day for 5-10 min for the next 5 days
Take Cough Linctus like Srepsils every occassionally , it'll sooth your throat and give relief.
Also take Tab PANTOPRAZOLE 40mg Once Daily 15-20 min before breakfast to prevent any type Acid Reflux.
Also try to take your dinner preferably 2 Hrs before bedtime.
I know due to Sedentary lifestyle, this won't be easy to follow but try to maintain yourself as much as possible, you'll see the difference gradually.
Any further queries are most welcome
Take Care
Regards
Yes but only if they're taken in an Unsupervised fashion.....

Hey There,
Welcome back,
Well as you've rightly pointed out that Nicotine Patches have their set of Side effects like most of the other medications. Most noticeably , nausea, bloating , dizziness and allergic reaction to the skin .
But here the after effects generally outweigh the side effects.
Any way if you're not comfortable using them , I've already mentioned the alternative treatment . please go back to my previous answer where you'll find all the details.
Do not worry , and start them and let me know how you stay later on . Any further modifications can be made later on depending on how your body responds to this therapy at this moment.
Take care of Yourself
Good Luck and my best regards.
