Suggest Remedy For Abdominal Pain And Whitish Vaginal Discharge After An Abortion

Question: I had an abortion about 4 1/2 weeks ago and am experiencing cramping on and off throughout the day, accompanied but some blood and whitish thick discharge. The discharge smells a bit unpleasant as well. Is this a bad sign or?
Brief Answer:
Need some details.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
Since when are you experiencing this discharge and pain?
Do you have itching also?
Foul smelling, thick white discharge can be due to yeast infection.
A local examination is must to rule out the infection.
Hope to hear from you with details.
Thanks.

Hello and thanks for the reply.
I do not have itching and the discharge started with the pregnancy. But happens less often now. I was wondering if the blood/cramping means my period is starting again? And the cramps started yesterday. I can't tell if they are period crams or not because this is my first abortion.

Brief Answer:
Suggest starting of periods.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Sorry for late response.
The cramps and bleeding after abortion usually subside within two weeks.
You had abortion 4 1/2 weeks back.
In my opinion, these symptoms are suggestive of beginning of your periods.
Discharge in pregnancy is normal and should fade away slowly.
If the discharge persists and there is pain, itching and foul smell, get yourself examined by your doctor for infection.
For cramping pain, you can try ibuprofen.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
