Brief Answer:
Adopt correct posture, apply hot water bag, try Physiotherapy

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

Where exactly do you get the spasms ?

How often do you get them ?

Any pain, tingling or numbness in your hands or legs ?

Usually upper back spasms can be due to incorrect posture, slip disc, any local swellings or infection.

I would advise you to apply hot water bag to the painful regions. This helps to increase local blood some top the muscles and relieve them of spasm. Take pain killer and muscle relaxant medicine like Tablet Etodolac with Thicolchicoside combination twice a day for 7 days after meals. This will give good relief. Adopt correct posture and follow ergonomics at work and at home. Try to sleep straight and on your back. Also you can consult a Physiotherapist for TENS or Interferential therapy which will help relieve the spasms. Eat a diet rich in Magnesium like Yoghurt, Avocado, Green leafy vegetables, Dark chocolate which are very helpful in preventing spasms.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
