Brief Answer:
You need work up

Detailed Answer:
Good day and thank you for being with healthcare magic!

Blood in the urine whether it is microscopic or gross blood is always a red flag for us urologist.

You have a condition we refer to as asymptomatic microscopic hematuria (AMH). Persistent findings of blood in the urine warrants a complete workup to rule out conditions that causes microscopic hematuria.

The most dreaded condition that we have to rule out are malignancies in the urinary tract. This could be accomplished by doing a CT SCAN , an ultrasound of KUB and to check the urine for cancer cells (urine cytology). With the ct scan and ultrasound, stones in the urinary tract can also be detected and ruled out.

Another condition would be atrophic urethritis which can cause inflammation of the opening of the urethra due menopause. This is a common cause of microscopic hematuria in the female elderly population.

In 10-15% of the time you can be an idiopathic microscopic hematuria when after all the workup and everything comes out normal.
