Suggest Remedy For Congested Nose And Sinusitis
Question: Hi
My son has congested nose/sinus most of the time. At night time be breathes mostly through his mouth. He was tested for allergies and the tests show the following: candida 2, mucor 2 and some types of dust mites 1. The ENT doctor noted that his tonsils are rather large measuring around 3 or so in her estimation.
My questions: do you think dealing with the allergies would help ease the congestion? Does he need to have his tonsils removed as the ENT as a possible solution for the congestion and mouth breathing? Would dietary changes be helpful?
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
I understand it can be very disturbing for a parent to easily accept tonsil removal in a loved child. However, I am afraid if clinical review the ENT surgeon revealed very large tonsils, allergy management might not be very helpful.
An extra few is that recurrent tonsil infection when they are large is bound to occur. The child might in future develop a preventable rheumatic fever.
I am I for tonsil removal as per ENT doctor.
Thanks and kind regards. Please, do not hesitate asking follow up questions in case of need
