Brief Answer:
Hypertrophied lingual tonsil or lymphoid follicle.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query

The sensation in the right side of the throat could be either due to an hypertrophied lymphoid follicle or an enlarged lingual tonsil. Sometimes, relux of the acid from the stomach into the throat can also give rise to foreign body sensation in the throat.

Without examination of the throat, it is difficult to comment about the exact cause.

My suggestion to you is to drink plenty of warm water and do gargles with dilute povidone iodine. Consult your doctor if the symptoms do not subside within 3-4 days.

Hope I have answered your query; I'll be available for the follow up queries.

Brief Answer:
I doubt any cancer in you case...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing back

I doubt any cancer in you case. This is one of the commonest problems in the adults following tonsillectomy.

Tonsil is a lymphoid organ. On removal of this, the other supplementary lymphoid tissues start taking over the function of tonsil and thus get enlarged. This is what I suspect in your case.

All these doubts can be cleared only after examining the oral cavity.

Scar tissue will not cause foreign body sensation in the throat.
