Suggest Remedy For Dry Mouth, Nausea And Blurred Vision While On Lexapro

Sunday night, I got the dry mouth and vision disturbances, but I had taken a Lorazepam beforeheand, so I wasn't too freaked out about it. The dry mouth is gone, but when I'm in the dark, I still have the vision disturbances. I took Lorazepam again, so I'm not panicking. I know Lexapro has a half life of about 27-30 hours, so more than 3/4 should be out of my system by now. Is it possible that this isn't a side effect and there's something wrong with my brain? If not, how long will this side effect last? Should I see a doctor? I'm quite concerned.
It is likely side effetcs of escitalopram & drug interactions
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
Dry mouth and nausea are very common side effects of lexapro. The panic episode after you wake up from bed is also likely due to leaxpro though it is rare side effect but can happen.
Escitalopram has drug interaction with welbutrin and vyanse.Wellbtrin can increase the blood levels of lexapro, which may increase other side effects.Lexapro may increase the effects of vyanse, and side effects such as jitteriness, nervousness, anxiety, restlessness, and racing thoughts have been reported.
So these drug interactions are also likely responsible for your problem.
No probable any neurological/brain issue as you felt better with lorazepam.I think you should be fine with a day now. You can take lorazepam 0.25 to 0.5 mg according to your need. Do not take lexapro. If even after a day your problem persist significantly consult doctor for evaluation.
Later on consult your doctor and inform about these points what I have mentioned so alternative of lexapro can be prescribed considering your problem.
Hope I have answered your query I will be happy to help further.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
