Suggest Remedy For Fever With Joint Pain
Question: My colleague's family yesterday had, over the day, four people falling ill with below symptoms -
# Fever
# Joint Pain.
It started with, in the morning his mother catching it, in the afternoon, his father. later, couple of other relatives.
Question : What tests are suggested?

Welcome to HCM.
Sudden onset of fever with joint pain among family members could be mostly due to viral infection (dengue fever or chikungunya fever) especially in XXXXXXX
So,I will want to rule out them one by one by doing,
1) Complete blood counts with ESR,
2) Urine examination,
3) Peripheral smear for malaria parasite (as a part of routine testing)
4) Dengue NS1 antigen and IgG,IgM antibody testing.
5) Chikungunya IgM antibody testing.
Where it would be better to undergo dengue or chikungunya testing after 24 to 48 hours of onset of fever to avoid any false negative results.
Meanwhile,they can take symptomatic treatment like pain killers (diclofenac 100) with paracetamol 500 mg to reduce fever.
Some local doctor or GP will know about it and may order this investigations.
