Suggest Remedy For Herpes Outbreak On Penis

default
Posted on Fri, 7 Nov 2014
Question: I had my first herpes outbreak on my penis shaft 3 weeks ago. It all cleared up except for a 1/4" raised area of skin the has a tiny pinkish dot in middle. The area is only 2mm from where 3 sores from outbreak were. The raised area almost looks little glossy but had no signs of popping. Been there for week and half. It throbs some and when I'm in the shower the water landing on it makes it hurt some.

Brief Answer:
Monitor a little longer for now!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this herpes outbreak and this residual papule that you have described. This is typically as a result of inflammation when healing tissue is produced in excess. This normal regresses over time and thus generally requires no specific medical intervention. For these reasons, I will recommend that you monitor for some more time and do nothing at this time as healing would be spontaneous and all that is required is time.

To be double sure that this is nothing else than the typical skin reaction seen with herpes outbreaks, please consider providing an image for further evaluation.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

I actually remember the little red dot has always been on my penis. I never had concern cause it never grew or changed color. It still hasn't grown except for the raised blister like skin on top of it So now of course was thinking skin cancer cause the skin got raised above where red dot is. The red dot itself is not raised. It's just weird how the skin got raised up right as herpes was clearing up. Almost like my body was put up resistance in the area of the red dot . Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
This is not skin cancer!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up.

I understand you heightened concern about a possible skin cancer. This is simply not the case ere. Skin cancer preferably grows on exposed surfaces to sunlight and not areas that are always away from sunlight.

Also, cancers grow over years and not days like you mentioned. This is probably in response to the bigger picture of herpes outbreak. I will treat it so and monitor longer before taking any further aggressive measures to investigate on this in future if need be.

I hope this helps. I wish you well and let me know what your take is on this at this time.

The bump hasn't gotten bigger or smaller. I don't recall a blister. What do you think caused raised bump scarring ? Will it always stay there ? How long could it take to go away ? I have been putting neosporin on it . Could that be hurting it ? I do masrurbate at least once a day also. Thank for your help.

Brief Answer:
Stop Neosporin!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for following up with me.

Stop Neosporin. This is used to treat infections and not bumps. It may rather cause irritation and should that happen aggravate or increase scarring.

I believe this scar would sooner or later get unnoticeable. However, let's give ourselves time to achieve this this goal. Also, this is no acute threat to life monitoring a little before becoming aggressive with ablation therapy should there be need wouldn't hurt.

Masturbation would not really aggravate healing unless there is an active ongoing infection.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
Let me change the wordings.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and sorry for this lack of clarity.

By this, I meant to say this scar would resolve all by itself with time and should this not happen, we would consider other measures like drugs/minor surgery to take it off. Waiting would not have any consequences on treatment outcome should there be need in future.

I hope this is clear enough. Let me know what your take is. Thanks!
