Suggest Remedy For Irritating Lump Under The Skin

default
Posted on Fri, 14 Nov 2014
Question: I have a pea sized lump right under my skin right below my xiphoid process. My dermatologist told me it is a fibroma and to leave it alone. Is this correct? I have had it a long time. It is not growing. It is irritated because I occasionally touch it.

Brief Answer:
Fibroma benign

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your medical question and concern.

You recently saw your dermatologist for a lump that is located just below your xiphoid. He told you that it is a fibroma. A fibroma is a growth of fibrous tissue and is completely benign. There is virtually no chance for this growth to become cancerous. By continuing to touch it and irritate it you will cause more pain and worry.

I can reassure you that you have nothing to worry about.
