Suggest Remedy For Itching And Redness In Foreskin

Question: I had my regular STD tests recently which were all clear. The Dr also prescribed for me some Lotriderm cream 30g for some itching and redness inside my foreskin.
After using the cream regularly twice daily the itching had mostly disappeared after two weeks but I continued to experience some redness and occasional slight burning sensation on the foreskin. I've switched to Canestan cream but still getting occasional itching and redness. Should I go back to Lotriderm or try nothing? I am washing and drying carefully twice a day. The clinic is now closed for Xmas ....any suggestions.
I have stopped using this today but the redness persists. Should I continue the creme or stop or is there something else you would recommend.

Brief Answer:
More potent anti fungal agents will be needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Lotriderm and canestan both has same anti fungal agent clotrimazole in varied concentration. But clotrimazole is not that effective for all fungal infections. I would suggest more potent anti fungal agents like miconazole. A combination of miconazole and corticosteroid like hydrocortisone is good to use for your condition. This is available as over the counter in brands like daktarin.
Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the area as it may irritate more. You can use saline or warm water for this.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
