2. Is the weight gain of my baby something abnormal and do I need to do some thyroid tests for her.
3. What should be her normal feeding . how many ounces/ml per feed and how many feeds per day
Repeat milk boosters
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to the HCM
I understand your concerns but don't worry. The weight of your child is within the normal range. Thyroid function test is indicated for every newborn, so if she if not tested for it earlier then do get her checked.
You can easily get back good milk production as earlier by taking good nutritious diet, plenty of fluids and same medications which were taken before I.e lactonic powder and perinorm. No harm in repeating the prescription. Avoid any formula feeds as that is less nutritious than breastfeeding.
Normal feeds at this age should be guided by baby's demand. No need to go with any fixed figures. Feed her every 3-4 hours. Her consistent weight gain, urinary frequency ( more than 6 times per day), satisfaction after feeds are best guide.
Hopefully this will help you. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.

1. My baby never cries as of hunger. She keeps sleeping even though hungry. So how to analyze and feed her.
2. Any specific food item that I should avoid like red chilly as it passes in milk. And any food item that gives more milk supply. Kindly suggest.
3. My baby sleeps a lot. She plays but at a stretch she sleeps for 6-8 hrs also. I feed her in between and again she sleeps. Is it something to worry for. How many hours she should sleep now.
4. She puts her fists into mouth most of the time. Is that something to worry about
Feed her even if she is sleeping after every 4-5 hours

1. Feed her after 4-5 hours even if she doesn't demand during sleep. Babies feed well even during sleep once initiated. Normal feeds should last for at least 15 minutes.
2. Eat healthy balanced meals and small snacks every few hours as during pregnancy. Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid caffeine. Enjoy hygienic food with various flavors which you like. There is no harm.
Foods like broccoli, cabbage, brussels sprouts, dairy products, chocolate, citrus, garlic, or chili pepper if taken by nursing mothers are found to be gassy for babies sometimes. So, if your baby is consistently uneasy after you have them, then avoid them. Take avocados, olives, nuts, dates and seeds to boost breastfeeding.
3. Infants may sleep around 16-18 hours a day even at this age. So don't worry.
4. It's normal at this age to mouth hands and fingers.. No interventions required. Gently remove if witnessed.
Hopefully this will help you.
2. How much ounces / ml we should give her as top feed at a time as I need to start office by next month mid. And what should be the time interval. I will feed her my milk mostly but sometimes need to top feed her also.
3. Earlier every 2 hrs my breasts were leaking, but now its not. Even I m not able to feel that it is full as earlier. How many days it takes for the medicine to work. Today I tried to express milk from one side by hands and I could only get 1 spoon. So I am extremely worried.
She may take around 4-5 oz every 4 hours
Detailed Answer:
Worry and stress are the biggest hurdles in breast feeding. So avoid them. Leaking breasts due to hyperlactation normally improve in 2-4 months due to body adjustment as per babies needs. It doesn't mean that the milk production is insufficient. If your baby is growing well, urinating at least 6 times a day and sleeping well then that is the best indicator for sufficient feeds.
In case, you want to give her formula feeds then 4-5 oz every 4 hours will be good. But in case she demands more then do give extra amounts or more frequently.
