Suggest Remedy For Pain And Heaviness In Chest And Neck

Question: when walking my legs get heavy after 50 feet, sometimes I have to rest and then start again. I also get a little heaviness in chest and back. Nuclear stress test is normal, no peripheral neuropathy, leg arterial study WNL. It has been getting more frequent and impacting my life. I also have urinary incontinence and occasional bowel incontinence I have arthritis, hypothyroid, diabetes II. Have been in good shape and labs good. I am a young 66 and have been a very active RN. this is distressing

Hello. I carefully went through your question and understand your concern.

I believe you are experiencing neurogenic claudication, which is a common condition after the 6th decade, due to lumbosacral spinal stenosis.

A simple plain CT scan of the lumbar spine can detect such eventuality. If this is the case you would need a further neurosurgical consult.

I recommend a lumbar CT scan.
