What Causes Elevated B12 And Folate With Spinal Stenosis?
5 years ago I had a partially empty sella and last year it was presented as a completely emtpy sella. I have NMT, Gastroparesis and CIP along with epilepsy and spinal stenosis and almost no Ferritin but an extremely elevated B12 and Folate. All considered to be Idiopathic in nature. Any comments?
There is no reason to panic about these MRI findings, as it may depend on the radiologist opinion. Anyway, all these conditions are not related to each other (except for gastroparesis and CIDP, which are related to each other). Epilepsy is not related to empty sella syndrome. I think that all this may be idiopathic, or gene related to a rare genetic condition. I recommend checking pituitary gland hormone levels. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
