Suggest Remedy For Pain Caused By Bruise On Palm After An Accident
anti inflammatory pain killers would work best if she can use one of these
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
The main parts of treatment of acute trauma are RICE- rest, ice, compression and elevation.
Compression and elevation are helpful if there is swelling but would be difficult with the back.
If she already has pneumonia then the cold compress/ice can worsen her cough.
If she does not have pneumonia or a cough then the cold compress can be used because pneumonia is caused by infection from a virus or bacteria and would not be caused by the cold compress/ice therapy itself.
In that case, would be used 2 to 3 times a day, for 10 to 15 minutes each.
It may not be safe to give her anti inflammatory pain killers though these would work best. This includes medications such as ibuprofen, cataflam, naproxen.
In older persons, there is a risk of bleeding in the stomach especially if not used with a meal.
If she occasionally uses one of these, then she can use one of these to help with pain. It would have to be with meals to protect the lining of the stomach.
The pain can get worse 2 to 4 days after the initial injury.
If there is no improvement then she should be taken to see her doctor.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
