Brief Answer:
possibly related

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Your eustachian tube runs from the middle ear down into the back of your throat. If you have some sort of inflammation or infection in your throat it could cause pain around your adam's apple and in your ear. If this has been going on for a while you probably need to see your doctor for an exam and evaluation.
If you feel any lumps in your neck make sure to see your doctor.
Of course it is also possible that you have two things going on. Some hearing loss is common in all of us that are over 60 (me too!).
The pain at your adam's apple could be nothing serious or it could be a lymph node or mass so if the pain persists, please see your doctor
