Brief Answer:
as explained in details.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/37 - missed meth injection abscess - warm, swollen and very painful ...

Seen the posted clear picture and noted your history.
Please let me know a few additional points:
- When was the injection missed?
- Any medicines that you have taken till now?
- Do you have diabetes or so?

Till I get your feedback, would suggest the following in such a situation:
Since there is a central skin thinning, it is possible that the abscess may point out and open up.
Looking at the picture you have provided, I would like you to take some antibiotic (needs a prescription).
Anti-inflammatory medication with painkiller properties like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac (whichever suits you)
Rest in bed with elevation of the affected part above the heart level in laying down position (support with pillows or so).
Apply Mag sulf/Epsom salt locally.

All these things will help you.
If it is not opening up sooner, you may need incision and drainage for early and complete recovery.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to give feedback and ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
