Suggest Remedy For Prolonged Bleeding From Nose

Question: Around 2 months ago I had a nosebleed after blowing my nose in the shower, but i've always had nosebleeds easily for as long as I can remember, but that particular nosebleed did not stop for a very long time (3 hours). I was very worried about it but I had a trip to Europe so I kind of shrugged it off and it never happened again, but the nosebleeds that I had the following week were longer than usual (1 hour) they are usually 15 minutes. After a month, it returned to normal, if I ever have a nosebleed now it's only 15 minutes again. I thought that before, it was really weird for that to happen, is that some sign of disease that I should worry about?

Also about 3 weeks into my Europe trip my arms muscles started hurting for around 2 weeks but that was after a hiking trip so I thought maybe a tick had bit me and I had gotten lyme disease or something but I never got it checked out and I was wondering if the two things might be connected and if I need to get a doctor to check up on it.

Brief Answer:
These things are not connected.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have history of recurrent nasal bleeding. It is very common problem. Most of the time there is no underlying cause. Dry climate, trauma, aspirin like drugs are the common precipitating factors.

Sometimes thrombocytopenia, rhinitis, systematic disease can be the cause.

You should investigate for complete blood count and coagulation profile. If these tests are normal then no need to worry.

You should investigate for lyme disease. You don't have any typical symptoms or red marks but many patients have lymes disease without typical symptoms. So for exclusion of lyme disease you should investigate for that.

There is no any connection between your nose bleeding and your arm pain.

Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
