Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help.Based on your description and all the other information at hand, I would like you to know that from the different types of headaches, your headache can be best related to tension headaches.
Tension headaches are usually present either at the back of the head in some individuals or around the temples or both in others. They are predominantly constant and either are just a headache or can also present along with pressure around the head. They are caused by contraction of the neck muscles that a usually a response to either stress (stressful situations, lack of sleep causing stress to the mind, physical exhaustion causing stress to the body, etc.) or due to fluctuations in blood pressure or certain medications.
Having listed that I would like you to analyse the following points and provide me with your input, if you do not mind ma'am, thank you.
+How would you rate your level of stress based on just tension or other factors that I have earlier listed on a scale of 0 to 5. 0 being absolutely stress-free and 5 being extremely stressed
+Are you diagnosed with any chronic conditions? Especially cardiac conditions, hypertension, hypotension, etc.
+Which medications are you currently on? Taking your age into consideration, I would also like to rule out menopause and the headaches that can accompany it from the equation. Could you provide me with any information pertaining to this aspect?
I understand how such headaches can interfere with the day-to-day activities and be both limiting and frustrating. Tension headaches usually subside themselves as and when the cause seems to settle down or clear out, but to aid early relief from them you could try:
+Over-the-counter pain management medication (e.g. ibuprofen, tylenol, etc.) with a meal
+If at all you have fluctuations in your bleed pressure, a revision in your medications will be necessary
+Do not skip any meals, eat them on time, and try to get ample amount of sleep
I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.
Best wishes.
