Need more details
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.
I need more details to be better able to help you. Please let me know if you have fever, sneezing, runny nose, ear pain, colour of mucous, any other symptom, duration of symptoms?
Only then I will be able to tell if antibiotics like amoxicillin will help or not.
Meanwhile you can try tablet cetrizine once before sleeping. It will help relieve your symptoms of nasal congestion, sore throat and runny nose.

Thanks for your reply.
I don't have Fever, Sneezing, runny nose and Ear pain.
Color of mucous - sometimes it is white and sometimes its dark yellow.
Mucous will block my nose and causes headache so i keep cleaning my nose.
Also, i don't have any pain in my throat but not able to talk properly (Voice is suppressing).

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics will help
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
After reading your followup, I think that antibiotics will help and can be taken for 3 - 5 days. But the relief will be temporary and symptoms may return after few days. Betadine gargles or saline gargles in XXXXXXX warm water will be beneficial for your voice. Give your voice some rest. Avoid recurrent coughing. When the mucous is too much then take tablet cetrizine.
Mucous is not coming from dust but from a chronic infection. From the colour and other symptoms, it seems to be mostly fungal component with superimposed bacterial infection. Lifestyle works best for such infections. Thus I suggest to always take fresh hygienic food, balanced diet, cleanest drinking water. Avoid smoke. Cold and warm air can exacerbate symptoms. Pranayama also help.

Thank You!
You have mentioned 'the relief will be temporary and symptoms may return after few days' - this is true, this occurs every 3-4 months (WITHOUT Fever, Sneezing, runny nose and Ear pain).
May I know the reason? so that I can change my life style.
And, on next week am going for a trip (north India-manali, kashmir) for 15 days. I believe weather will be chilled. What precaution could i take? Any tablets for emergency so that i can keep handy.
Your answers are very clear and well explained. Thanks a lot.

Brief Answer:
Reason is altered normal flora
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the appreciation.
The reason is mostly altered flora in the airways that is resulting is fungal overgrowth. It mostly happens due to recurrent antibiotic use and pollution as well. Pollution in air cannot be controlled but in food and water it can be controlled. RO system is best to take out pollutants from water. Unhealthy lifestyle makes it worse.
Healthier lifestyle includes precautions about diet and exercise. In diet you need to take hygienic food. In exercise adapt a regimen that makes you feel better. You can go for gym, walk, yoga, swimming, cycling, or a combination of these. Atleast 20 - 30 min of exercise is needed in a day.
So whenever (after 3 or 4 months) you experience exacerbation of these symptoms, you simply take some medicines to control it. If it gets controlled with cetrizine, thats good. If it doesnt get controlled with it then other medicines like antibiotics, cough syrups may be needed. Cough syrup containing ambroxol can help dry the mucous in resistant cases.
Regarding your trip, the air in the Himalayas is cleaner. Though the cold can be bothersome. So take precautions for that. Carry appropriate clothes like muffler, warm cap and jacket. During trip do not drink water from tap. Rather drink bottled water (not mineral water but RO system water like aquafina, kingfisher, kinley).
Tablet for emergency:
Tablet paracetamol 500 mg one strip
Tablet brufen 200 mg one strip
Tablet cetrizine 5 mg one strip
The antibiotic tablets that you already have
Tablet imodium one strip for mild diarrhea
Any other meds that you take regularly
Bandaid
Hand sanitizer
Tweezers for removing ticks, splinters etc.
Polysporin or neosporin ointment
Avomin tablets for vomiting
Insect repellent like odomos
Take care
