Question: my 16 year old daughter started having hip pain almost a year ago...she has limped ever since then..after numerous visits to different drs and frustrations beyond belief..we finally had them run a test and her ANA marker came back positive..sicne she had joint pain (in her hip and her hands) they referred us to a theumatolgoist..he evaluated her and said that she presented like JRA and potentially even Ankylosing spondylitis...he ran a series of tests but meanwhile he put her on methotrexate...meanwhile more joints began hurting, it now is in her ankles knees wrists shoulders , well you name it every joint..after she did not respond well to methotrexate or azulfadine we took her to a different dr (Chief of Staff at Nemours Childrens Rheumatology) and he said she does not have it..however he discounted all her symptoms as nothing..including low grade fevers and said she isn't swollen (she is) (he blamed it on female teenager and said it wasn't significant)..so it is so weird his analysis of her that its hard to give him credibility...all i know is it has been a year of drs..she has only gotten worse..she has areas of pockets of edema not in her joints as well...she fatigues easily...but apparently since her MRI's don't show anything it is not JRA.(second dr said it is AMP-amplified musculoskeletal pain syndrome)? doesn't add up to me..her joints get warm..she can't sleep, she is miserable but nothing is showing..i am desperate to help her but no one has answers..and nothing gives her relief either...

also the second dr said her ANA marker although positive was a low positive..not sure what how that discounts her condition..but she has also been checked for thyroid...maybe not thoroughly ? i have hashimotos disease although her symptoms are not really similar to what mine were
