Suggest Remedy For Split Nail Despite Having Negative Biopsy Result

Question: This nail has been splitting for 10 years. Now the pink line down seems to be thicker. I had a piece cut and biopsied. Results negative. Do you have any suggestions for this.
Brief Answer:
Longitudinal erythronychia, has multiple causes
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and you are having longitudinal erythronychia.
It has multiple causes. It can occur secondary to some skin and nail diseases like lichen planus, darrier's disease, discoid lupus erythematosus and psoriasis.
It can also occur in association with dermal tumours as well as tumours of bone and cartilage that arise from the distal phalanx.
Sometimes there doesn't appear to be any primary disease to provide an explanation for these pink lines.
Since you have undergone biopsy and it is normal their is no need to worry.
