Hi
Thank for writing in HCM
Based on the information provided it appears you may have caused didn't injury to your esophagus due to choking on a hot dog. You may be having esophagitis.
Presently, I would suggest you to avoid spicy food, alcohol, hot coffee or tea, smoking. By eating solid food there is chance of re injuring the area, so avoid it for week or so. It may take 2 to 3 weeks to heal. Continue the treatment as advised.
Nexium will reducesthe acidity and thus prevents injury caused by acids on esophagus.
It is difficult to comment on the tongue without examination, if possible upload a picture for better assessment.
Take care
