Suggest Tests Needed For General Check Up In An Occasional Smoker And Drinker

Question: Sir,

My details are mentioned below.Would like to know the following -
1. My wt is 105 Kgs
2. BP is 140 by 95

I am a occasional smoker and drinker. I guess i need to meet the cardiologist for getting the general check up. please suggest if any blood test or any other tests are recommended before going to him.

Dear Sir
You have not mentioned your height. But it seems you are overweight. You should stop smoking altogether. Eat salads/ vegetables and more of fruits. Avoid fatty food and fried items.
You should consult a good general physician first and get investigated as per his advise and assessment. It is always better to get directed investigation rather than blind ones.
If you do not have symptoms, you may need to see an endocrinologist for your weight rather than a cardiologist. If you have any chest pain, shortness of breath etc then you must see cardiologist.
