Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

There isn't yet one overall test that would test for all types of cancer yet. That would be wonderful if we had such a tool!

But we do have a variety of blood tests and imaging tests to look for specific types of cancers. For example the CA-125 blood test can be used to screen for certain types of ovarian cancer in high risk women. Another example: CT or MRI scans of the abdomen can pick up tumors there, but at that point, the cancer is no longer just a few abnormal cells, and also, the radiologist needs to know what he or she is needing to focus on based on presenting symptoms for which the test was ordered.

Is there a specific type of cancer that you would like me to tell you about how it is screened?
