Suggest The Ideal Dosage For Atenol Taken Blood Pressure

Question: My 25 mg atenol tablet which I have been on for over 5 years is no dropping my heart rate into the 50s. Suggestion was to lower dose. I am traveling and was thinking to cut tablet in half. Is it safe to cut them?

Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.. If your Atenelol at dose of 25 mg is getting your heart rare to 50 beats per minute then you definitely need to reduce the dose and get your blood pressure and ECG done.
For the time being till you get back to your place you may reduce the dose to half.
