Brief Answer:
Doctor's Consultation and Prescription are must for ADHD

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I understand your concern.

As per your symptoms, you possibly seem to have mixed inattentive/hyperactive features of ADHD.

An estimated 15-20% of children with ADHD maintain the full diagnosis into adulthood. As many as 65% of these children will have ADHD or some residual symptoms of ADHD as adults.

Parents and siblings of children with ADHD are 2-8 times more likely to develop ADHD than the general population, suggesting that ADHD is a highly familial disease.

Specifically, the presence of high neuroticism and low conscientiousness in conjunction with genetic vulnerability may constitute a risk factor in the expression of ADHD in an individual.

Basic laboratory studies that may help confirm diagnosis and aid in treatment are as follows- These tests should be done based on the test results.

1.Serum CBC counts with differential
2.Electrolyte levels
3.Liver function tests (before beginning stimulant therapy)
4.Thyroid function tests

Coming to treatment aspects-methylphenidate is a good drug approved by US FDA for the treatment of ADHD.Atomoxetine is 2nd line drug, to be used only if Methylphenidate or Amphetamines produce an inadequate response to ADHD.

These drugs are psychostimulants. They can produce significant side effects at the beginning of the therapy. These drugs are issued with doctor's prescription only with a BLACK BOX WARNING of side effects.

Since you have exams nearby, I advise you not take these drugs without consulting your doctor.A doctor who is treating you can accurately balance the doses in the right range based on your symptom improvement. He can also troubleshoot side effects efficiently at an appropriate time.

He also checks the drug interaction with respect to the gall bladder and kidney stones.

The treatment is usually given for 1-2 years for a complete resolution of symptoms.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Bin-aural beats are definitely not alternative to allopathy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I understand your concern.

Binaural beats has some success in treating Sleep disorders associated with anxiety and depression.

Their role in ADHD is not proven.Hence better not rely on this alone. This is definitely not an alternative therapy to for allopathy.

Your health issue can be completely cured with Medications alone.Do not worry.

Yes, you can go to the neurophysiologist once all the test results are out. This will help the doctor to formulate the drug schedule according and make an effective approach.

These tests are relatively very safe. You need not worry about it.

For kidney stones, it is better to get a CT scan of the abdomen as ultrasound is less sensitive for kidney stones.

CT also has an additional advantage of picking up gallstones clearly. So CT scan will serve a dual purpose.

I advise you to visit XXXXXXX Diagnostic center-Macca Majid area, XXXXXXX Center-This lab offers excellent and accurate scan interpretation for abdominal/kidney scans.

It is always better to take tests with a doctor's prescription for better and accurate patient services.I can provide you these if you can update me with your email address since I belong to XXXXXXX I can guide you thoroughly from thereafter.

I recommend Dr K XXXXXXX Reddi
Address: 14-37-43, Doctors Care, Collector Junction, Maharanipeta, Maharanipeta, XXXXXXX Andhra Pradesh 530002

Brief Answer:
Underlying OCD with anxiety neurosis have to be ruled out.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, XXXXXXX

I understand your concern.

This is certainly a reflection of underlying anxiety neurosis.

This can be a component of ADHD.

Also, one needs to rule out Obsession and Compulsion disorder/OCD,since repetitive thoughts often intrude the mind and complusive checking relieves it.This is cycle which causes discomfort to the person.

You need to exactly tell him the same symptoms as you have mentioned to mentioned to me now as well as in your first query. This narration is simple, superb and straightforward. The Doctor will straight away understand your health concern.

If needed carry a print out of your query to rehearse the same wordings and narration.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you
