CRPS
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your medical concerns
I am sorry to hear that your wife has CRPS. This is a disease is caused by the autonomic nervous system gone array and is very debilitating to those afflicted. You have tried therapy and acupuncture and you are wanting to know what else can be done to help. In my practice We do try medications like gabapentin and other anti-seizure medications along with some antidepressants that may help. If those don't work some of my patients have gone to using medical marijuana. This is available to our patients in the state of XXXXXXX Those patients using marijuana have found some success with using it. The type of marijuana they use is a type that is high in CBD or cannibidiol. This wouldn't make you stoned or high but helps with pain control.
Other medical options are topical lidocaine. and lastly use of opiates.
Pain specialist can also perform nerve blocks that will stop the nerve from transmitting the pain signals. Also spinal cord nerve stimulators have been used to help blunt the nerve pain.
In summary
1. anti seizure medications Gabapentin
2. Anti depressants amitriptyline or cymbalta
3. Topical lidocaine
4. Medical marijuana
5. Nerve blocks
6. Spinal cord stimulators
