Suggest Treatment For HSV 1 Infection
Question: Hi,
Thank you! I have been tested igg antibodies for HSV type one which is positive and the ratio was 55.2! Do i need any medications? As i have no cold sores? Also i have been told that i have an infection in the lung which i tool two antibiotics (amoxicillin and clarithromycin) for two weeks! I have no symptoms now and no fever! My question is do u think that the herpes is related to the lung infection and second do i need any medication for the herpes? Also is hsv 1 dangerous? Third if the lung infection was because of the herpes do u think that i have should had different antibiotics?

1.HSV 1 infection is a very common infection since childhood on wards. The presence of HSV 1 IgG positive indicates an old infection which could acquired few years back or even in your childhood. HSV 1 infection is in no way dangerous or life threatening.
2.When there is no recurrence or manifestations there is no need for any treatment.
3.The infection of your lung has no relation to HSV 1 infection.
4.Regarding the treatment of your lung infection could best decided by your physician. I don't think that there is no need for any change of antibiotics unless there is no response to treatment.

My doctor suggested to do a lung washing tomorrow and to know what types of bugs are there? Is this a safe prosedure? And what is the worst case scenario might happen?

Hi I had the bronchial lavage where they washed my lung with water today! Every thing was was ok! But i have now a high temperature? Is this normal or I have to call the doctor?
