Suggest Treatment For Kleine–Levin Syndrome

Question: I have Klein-Levin Syndrome or Sleeping Beauty Syndrome. I need help staying awake, any suggestions please.

In Kleine–Levin syndrome till date no evidence indicates that pharmacological treatment for Kleine-Levin syndrome is effective.

However modafinil (or newer one armodafinil) -a stimulant drug- is the drug keeps patient awake is very useful.

Other option is methylphenidate like stimulant drug.

Lithium is the only drug that appears to have a preventive effect. In two studies of more than 100 patients, lithium helped prevent recurrence of symptoms in 20% to 40% of cases. If you can restart medicine it may help.

Discuss these suggestions with your treating doctor and change the treatment.
