Brief Answer:
She is on correct treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX

I have noted the medical details and medications taken by your wife.

I would like to reassure you that she is on correct medications.

Tuberculoma refers to TB of brain and is responsible for causing fits (unconsciousness) and headache.

Treatment consists of anti-TB medications, which is needed for 18 months.

In addition, medicines are needed to prevent fits, which are trioptal (oxcarbazepine) and gardenal (phenobarbitone) in her case.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Answered by Dr. Sudhir Kumar (5 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
18 months of treatment is needed.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

MRI brain should be repeated after 3-6 months.

Anti-Tb medicines are needed for 18 months.

Improvement in symptoms and MRI would help us know that she is getting better.

Clearing of shadows on Chest X-ray is a good news.

Best wishes,

Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
