Brief Answer:
Meftal P can be given

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I am sorry that your son is ill. It is not unusual for the temperature to rise high and not to drop to baseline during many infections. You can give him Meftal P syrup (mefenamic acid) which is more effective than calpol (paracetamol) in relieving temperature. 3ml of Meftal P (100 mg/5ml) would be the right dose for your child. It can be given at a minimum interval of 6 hours. Please note that this is a prescription drug, you must get it prescribed by his pediatrician.

I would insist that you upload the urine routine and culture reports so that I can comment on the infection as well.

Hoping for your response as well as for quick recovery of your son.

Regards

Thank you. Attached are the reports. For how long do we need to continue taximo syrup or do you suggest we change the antibiotic? Do you advice to take an ultrasound?

Brief Answer:
Antibiotic needs to be given for at least 10 days

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

I have gone through the reports. Indeed there is an infection which is sensitive to Cefixime (Taxim-O). It needs to be given for 10 or 14 days depending on the choice of the treating physican. Please talk to your doctor about it.

It can be reasonable to get an ultrasound done to rule out any predisposing factors or subsequent effects of the infection. So, you can proceed for the same.
