Brief Answer:
Repeat surgery / bone grafting

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your medical history in detail.

Knee cap is one such part in our body that always needs a surgery to heal. All conservative means of treatment like plaster, braces etc will not help.

Even if the initial surgery has failed, you need to undergo a repeat surgery from a better orthopedist.

Implant fixation of tension band wiring with bone grafting will give good results.
This needs to be followed by vigorous physiotherapy and knee strengthening exercises.

Rehabilitation is the most important part of the treatment for excellent results.

I can help you better if you could post the pre and post operative Xrays here.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.

Thank you.
Kind regards.

No,it is not possible that a busted knee cap would cause numbness and swelling in the foot.It may be due to other local causes like neuritis, sprain, soft tissue swelling etc.
