Suggest Treatment For A Cut Below The Earlobe
Question: I have an open "cut" between my lower ear lobe where it meets my cheek. The pharmacist indicated it was due to dryness and was common. I indicated I tried Neosporan for several days with no apparent improvement. She then suggested Aquaphor; which I've used for five days with little or no improvement.
What should I do or try next. It's not bleeding or oozing, just sore to the touch. It's red as well.
I've never experienced this before.

Brief Answer:
Can you upload an image for review?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Can you please upload an image of this cut for me to review? I will need this to adequate weigh in. If I fail to review an image, I am afraid my response might be very generic and not specific to you. This will take away benefits you have paid for.
To upload an image, simply click on the link to upload a file and follow the instructions. If this proves difficult, please send the image by mail to YYYY@YYYY and request that the image should be uploaded to your query.
I do promise to get back to you with more insights and helpful recommendations as soon as the requested information gets here.

Brief Answer:
This will take a long time to heal fully!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
That area contains cartilage and it is very difficult for it to heal fully. I will suggest that you exercise much patience. Cleanse and apply aquaphor ointment. Avoid picking on it continuously as this delays rapid healing. In all honesty, we are looking at several weeks, at least 2 here, for satisfactory recovery.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Keep me posted every now and then and most importantly if anything worrisome comes up.
