To rule out molluscum contagiosum
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.
Based on your symptoms and the photo attached, I would like to rule out molluscum contagiosum.(MC)
-how long have you had these rashes?
-do you have it any where else in your body?
-does it appear to be spreading?
- do you have any other medical issues? Or take any medications?
-did you come in contact with anyone who has similar symptoms?
-any fever?
MC is usually self limiting and doesn't require any treatment in 2-4 weeks
If, however if you find it troublesome or it doesn't seem to be reducing, I recommend that you consult a dermatologist.
In the meantime, avoid itching. Use cool compresses to relieve itching and apply mild moisturizer like aloevera.
Please note that MC is contagious if a person comes in contact directly with affected skin or clothing, towels that has the virus.
Hope this helps.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
