Suggest Treatment For A Red Oval Area Below The Elbow
Question: My wife exhibited a dark redish oval area below her left elbow 3 or 4 days ago. This is the only area impacted. The area also showed signs of swelling. Today the area tripled in size. There is no noticeable insect bite marks, she has not been exposed to any plants & she has not taken any new medications or tried any new foods. The area looks like a bruise but the color is wrong, it is warm and not painful at all.
Background Info: My wife has had Parkinson's for 9 years and also has Advance Stage Emphysema.

Photo you requested is attached as a JPG doc.
Other symptoms:
1. Sore throat.
2. Teeth hurt. This is unusual. Never experienced before.
3. Eyes hurt and headache all night and this morning. She may have sinus infection or both infection and something else? Could infection cause area on arm?
If she can't see GP today then we will go to minor care. Advice at minor care is often of poor quality based on my experience so I appreciate your advice.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be irritant contact dermatitis , unrelated to infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it is looking like irritant contact dermatitis to something used or applied on the arm.
It seems to be unrelated to infection.
The other symptoms you have described seems to be of sinusitis.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily for 5-7 days.
This should resolve in a week's time.
