Question: Female, 65, 5'4" 115 lbs with Parkinsons, managing well with bi-weekly workouts, cycling. Not the best diet, too much ice cream and products with sugar. Last two days, lower abdominal pain, hurts when I press, gassy and bloated, pain increases when sitting if I lean forward. No fever, no nausea, normal urination. Always have had constipation especially with PD, not especially more painful with this latest development.

Brief Answer:
Cause of pain abdomen and gas

Detailed Answer:
Hi xx, thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. The pain abdomen, gas and bloating are due to

: Indigestion

In your case, it is due to

: Excessive consumption of complex carbohydrate and fatty food like ice-cream and sugary food.
: Persistent constipation
: Antiparkinson drugs if taking any

You can get some relief after following some tips like
: Decrease intake of fatty, high sugary food.
: Increase fiber in your diet by consuming green leafy vegetables, fruits, salads
: Do Yoga or mediation
: Avoid too much coffee/tea/late night TV or awakening/irregular life style
: Drink at least 3 litre of fluids daily
: Avoid carbonated drinks like cola drinks
: Avoid mental stress
: You can take Tab Pantoprazole with Domperidone to relieve gas and bloating after proper prescription
: You can take probiotics like lactobacillus in curd.
: Also take proenzyme capsules like lipase/pancreatic enzymes if too much bloating. It can be taken only after prescription.
: For constipation, salad and Lactulose syrup, 1 tablespoon after dinner can be taken.

Hope this will help you. If still any doubt or no relief, do let me know.

Thanks. Take care.
