as explained in details.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query for your wife.
To recapitulate: Female/41 - upset and acidly stomach for more than 24 hours - painful cramps - indigestion - feels like acid in upper part of esophagus that wont come up - sour burps - eating and drinking makes this worse - in bed and pain on moving - not visited a Doctor - took Pepto Bismol and alcaselzer ...
The symptoms about your wife are certainly indicative of severe esophagitis, most probably due to severe GERD.
I would advise her the following:
Take a PPI like Omeprazole.
Take Pepto Bismol every three hours to combat the acidity.
Motility regulator like Domperidone Diet and liquids which are better tolerated by her- you will have to ask her what does suit her the best.
Ice cold water, milk, can help to soothe to an extent.
She can better have antacid with anesthetic medicine or even Xylocaine viscus.
Ideally an upper GI Endoscopy for an early diagnosis would be better to have a proper investigations and management .
I hope, this answers your queries, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
