Brief Answer:
are you sure???

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

ondansetron is a drug that prevents nausea and vomiting. It is particularly useful for patients receiving chemotherapy but it can also be used for surgical and other patients. Omeprazole is a drug that reduces stomach acidity and clarithromycin is an antibiotic. The only bacterial infection in the stomach that may be treated is caused by Helicobacter pylori and usually requires treatment with 3 or 4 drugs. Omeprazole, clarithromycin, amoxicillin is a common regimen. Other regimens may include bismuth, metronidazole and other choices of proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole-like drugs that is).

Ondansetron is not normally used for this purpose. Perhaps your doctor added it to the regimen to prevent nausea? I can't tell.

Anyway, the answer to your question is that ondansetron is given to patients with nausea and/or vomiting. I hope you find my comments helpful!

Kind Regards!
