Suggest Treatment For Acute Left-sided Pain In Abdomen

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Mar 2015
Question: Since Wednesday, February 18, I experience concerning and acute pain in my lower left side (it does wrap around to the back, but mostly in front of lowe lower stomach). It does hurt to wark, sit, and lie down. I don't have a clue as to what caused it. Should I head for Urgent Care, or ER. My physical therapist feels it is a muscle strain and use heat. Yet heat worsens. I fear Appendix , Rib Fracture, Aeorta Anyurisum, etc. Should I head for ER or Urgent care or await for an appointment with my Primary Dr.?

Brief Answer:
When would you be able to see your Primary Dr.?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this pain and all the inconveniences this has caused you. I will like to know what your bowel habits and stool are. The appendix is on the right and unlikely to be responsible fork this. Are you on any pain medications as well? Have you been involved in any exercises or what makes your therapist to think it is a muscle tear?

It cannot be a rib fracture, aorta aneurysm or appendix. All of these are unlikely and impossible seen the location, nature and duration of the pains. I hope to hear from you before settling on whether you need to use the ER right now or wait for an appointment. Let me hear from you as soon as possible!

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
