Question: I have mucus in my throat all day and night. I am specially concerned due to over flow in throat causing me to wake up trying to breath. and coughing. The drainage is continuous but controlled during waking hours by swallowing. I have had ex rays of sinus, tried numerous nose drops and cough medicine. This has been a problem for three years during which time I have been seen by many Doctors including a nose, throat, ear specialist. this Doctor says there is nothing more he can do for me.

Brief Answer:
allergic pharyngitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your query.
In my opinion, you might be having allergic pharyngitis.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed antihistamines + mucolytics combination drugs twice daily for 4 weeks+anti leukotriene antagonist drugs daily one for 3 months. Avoid oily and cold items. Curds and citrus fruits to be avoided.
Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
