Can I Become Pregnant While Using Advair And Singulair Tablets?
I had an asthma attack last week and had to go to the after hours clinic to get a steroid shot. The doctor put me on Advair twice a day and Singulair once a day. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and I just wanted to know whether it was safe to continue trying or do we need to wait a little while?

Hi, Thanks for the query. i understand your concern. Advair is an inhaled steroid to prevent attacks of asthma . It is not reported to have harmful effects on unborn baby. Singulair- is a Montelukast preparation for preventing wheezing & breathlessness caused by asthmatic patients. It is not known to cause harmful effects on pregnancy... still it is only to be given in pregnant ladies when it becomes essential. *If your doctor has advised both the drugs for a short period.. you should wait for planning a baby till the course is over, In case the drugs are to be administered over a long period...your doctor should decide about it's need to control your symptoms ) weigh thee advantages & dis advantages to decide about the drugs./ he may change to safer drugs during your pregnancy. Thanks
