Suggest Treatment For Ankle Sprain

I sprained my ankle today - it was painful but I can walk. There is no pain when resting. There is little to no pain when walking aprart from occasional twinges. But it is quite swollen: 6cm diameter, protruding about 1cm more than the normal one.
Im due to fly transatlantic in 36 hours. Is this safe?

Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. It does not looks to be serious bone injury as you are able to walk around and without any reddish/bluish discoloration?
You may take rest with limb kept on a pillow to reduce and prevent further increase in swelling,Ice fomentation and creppe bandage (elastic bandage) beside ibuprofen to reduce pain.
To help you better please send the picture of ankle .The prescription only drug trypsin/chymotrypsin helps in reuction of swelling.
You may fly wth the limb in elevated position,if possible.
Looking forward to your reply.
Take care
