Suggest Treatment For Ankle Swelling While On Naproxen
Your LFT needs to be done.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Thank you for posting your query on HCM.
Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that ankle swelling as a presenting symptom of arthritis in a young female is very rare . Plus from the information you have provided I believe it's a single ankle that's swollen so quite unlikely . Plus since your eyes have yellow tinge so urgently liver function tests should be done . It can be jaundice , if the tests are deranged then further evaluation will be done . Naproxen is quite safe drug otherwise so unlikely that it has caused this . You didn't mention in the question that what tests have been sent , please mention that only after that I will be able to tell whether to wait for tests or not .
Take care.

She did the blood test for rheumatiod factor because she wanted to rule out gout. i asked her for a liver and kidney test so i did those too, and a full blood count. The results wont come out until next week, is itsafe to wait?
I have noticed my other ankle is getting a bit puffy as well, and my eyes are yellowing even more. Last night I couldnt sleep well because my heart rate was 47 and i struggled to breathe well, i would wake up gasping for air. This could be anxiety, i am not sure.

Dear Madam,
Thank you for reverting back.
I think you should see a doctor at earliest as you have progressing symptoms as deepening of yellow discoloration of eyes is there . It's very unlikely that you have gout . Young females don't develop gout until there is genetic predisposition .

I want to my doctor and she said my blood test is out except for the rheumatiod factor test. She said my liver and kidneys are fine from what she can see on the test. However, my iron levels are a bit low. Could this have caused my yellow eyes? And are my swollen ankles from somthing else?e

Dear Madam,
Low iron levels will not lead to yellow discoloration of eyes but if liver function tests are fine then there is nothing to worry . I don't think your ankle swelling is due to gout and probably your RF will be negative . Well it will be very difficult to say what is the cause of ankle swelling . Did you have any injury to the ankle ?
