Brief Answer:
You could be right, but no need for anti-depressants if this is the case

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. You could be right, her age does raise doubt for pre- or peri-menopause which could easily be causing her symptoms.

But if at all, her symptoms are related to peri- or pre-menopause then hormone replacement therapy (HRT) would be more effective in treating her presentation, than anti-depressants.

The female hormones are protective in a number of aspects, including the preventing of depression and anxiety. Simply replacing the hormone will help treat the presentation, without having to use strong medication like anti-depressants.

I hope you find my response helpful sir. Please do not hesitate to write to me in the meantime for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
