Suggest Treatment For Anxiety Disorder And Insomnia Due To Stress

Question: I suffer from GAD & insomnia due to divorce stress. I take 100mg seroquel nightly. My dr says its not a sleeping pill, doesnt force sleep but simply relaxes me in2 natural sleep?

I am so sorry to hear about this Generalized anxiety disorder that you have reported and to hear about your divorce. I hope you soon get over all of it and regain a normal life.

Seroquel is not a sleeping aid. It is used to help you relax and don't be too bothered by life stressors. In doing this, it also held you to be able to sleep well. Its primary goal is not as a sleeping aid as your doctor has rightly told you.

This drug would not cause you to sleep. It simply relaxes your mind and let you sleep naturally and normally. That is why you cannot over sleep on this medication as opposed to others that can get you into deep and prolonged sleep.
