Brief Answer:
Breathing exercises a must.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Madam,
Welcome back.

Breathing difficulty is an integral and most distressing part of Generalised Anxiety Disorder.

I strongly recommend you to practice daily the basic breathing exercises.
Controlled breathing helps to lower the blood pressure, increase calmness and relaxation.

Practice these 4 breathing techniques:

1.Equal breathing-inhale for the count of four and exhale for the count of four all through the nose.

2.Abdominal breathing technique-This will cause immediate reduction in BP and heart rate.
Place one hand on the chest and one hand on the abdomen, take a deep breath through the nose, ensuring the diaphragm( not chest) inflates with enough air to create a stretch in the lungs.
The goal is 6-10 breaths/min for 10 min/day for 6-8 weeks.

3.Alternate nostril breathing-this is the best breathing technique to be useful in the times of stressful/anxious situations. This technique can relax both sides of the brain.

In a comfortable pose, block the right nostril with right thumb, inhale through left nostril. At the peak of inhalation, block the left nostril with right ring finger and exhale completely through the right nostril. Now repeat the same procedure by starting with the left nostril.

4.Skull shining breath-This technique will brighten up your day from inside out.
Begin with a long slow inhale, followed by a quick powerful exhale generated from the lower belly.
Once comfortable up the pace of one inhale-exhale cycle every one to two secs for a total of 10 secs.

I hope this info is helpful to you,
Thank you.
