Suggest Treatment For Atrial Fibrillation

Question: I have paroxysmal a fib with rvr. I get it 3 or 4 times a year. I always convert back on my own in less than 20 minutes. what is the likely hood that my afib will progress to a more permanent form of a fib?

Also if it does at some point stop converting on its own, how long do I wait to seek treatment? Also how long can it stay at a rapid rate before I need to seek trestment? my rate is usually about 160 but has gone as high as 250bpm. also will vagal manuvers help with afib?
