Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for posting in HCM.
There are innumerable reasons for the complaint you have mentioned.
But as you said the pain is from lower back till knees so is it in front of the leg or back of the knees?
Also when is the pain reduced? As in doing what reduces the pain?
Have you sought orthopedic surgeon's opinion?
Any x ray or MRI has been done so far?
Since when is the pain started?
Kindly answer me above questions so I can have better idea about it.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
have you considered surgery for it?
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for giving me detailed answers for my questions.
I also went through the MRI report which you have posted previously in other query.
So basically it is a problemof disc bulging or what we call as intervertebral disc prolapse.
All the medications and giving traction as exactly been advised to you are the treatment options before option of surgery is considered.
I feel that even after so many medications and also traction of that weight twice a day haven't helped you so I feel that undergoing discectomy surgery is the best option for you.
In that surgery the extra part or bulged disc will be removed hence the pressure effect on the nerves will also be removed and pain will reduce.
I feel it is right to do now as your age is only 38 so no other medical issues will be there and you can easily go through and recover faster from the surgery.
No medications or traction is helping you and this is ongoing from august as you told so its almost 9 months now. Hence option of surgery should be taken into consideration.
Consult your orthopedic doctor and neurosurgeon for possibility and outcome of surgery.
If you have any doubts or questions kindly ask me back will be happy to answer them.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
yes. after certain rest period you can resume your normal work
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Good that you are considering this as option.
As any surgery there are certain risk and complications we need to bear in mind. But most of it depends on the surgeon's work and expertise.
Even if its spine area, discectomy is quite a common surgery done on regular basis.
After certain period of rest and physiotherapy you will be able to resume your day to day activity normally and importantly pain free.
I would advice you to talk to your orthopedician and neurosurgeon about the surgery and type of surgery that they will be doing.
They will be the best person to talk to about this as they will be the one performing surgery.
But as far as I can tell it has good results and outcome has been good in this surgery so I will recommend it.
Hope this advice helps you.
