Brief Answer:
abdominal bleeding, high level INR

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

Thank you for trusting us at HCM with your question.

I do recommend you refer to the ER, ask for a specialist, gastroenterologist.

Abdominal pain, black stool, indicate bleeding is going on somewhere at the upper gastric tract since its black in color.

Your PT, INR level is high and indicates that your blood is clotting slower than normal, which can lead to bleeding. This high reading can be a result of medications (blood thinning medications but you did not mention you are taking any), liver problems, vitamin K deficiency, clotting factors deficiency.

Therefore, it is important to understand why the PT, INR level is abnormal. In the ER they need to check your blood count, CBC, iron level, and redo the PT, bleeding time, INR tests. Abdominal CT, and MRI can be needed.

Kind regards,
Dr. Nazzal
